It amazes me to look at (and photograph) Turtle for the third time. I marvel at this thriving, gentle pitbull who just over three years ago was left on the side of a road to die on a freezing cold December night. Rarely do I get an opportunity to photograph the milestones in a journey of a dog like Turtle.

March 15, 2010. Turtle three months after her rescue. And that smile.
Just three short months after she was rescued, looking through the viewfinder and seeing this smile on her face was inspiring. Turtle offered every man, woman and child she met unconditional love. The awful abuse she had endured had not changed her sweet disposition.
